I am so excited I can barely sit still long enough to write this blog. Why, you might ask, am I so excited? Because company’s coming! Have I mentioned I’m excited? As all get out? Well I am.

Tomorrow I will be driving to the airport during the noon hour to pick up the first of my two visitors. And then Tiff and I can be excited together! Whoohoo! But wait…there’s more. Just after five o’clock Wednesday, Tiff and I will make another trip to the airport to pick up Hellion. Then we can all be excited together! Whoohoo!

Ok, perhaps this is too much excitement too soon. I should probably pace myself. And I still have so much to do. Cleaning that bathroom is a must. And maybe run the sweeper one more time. Take that garbage down to the dumpster and OMG do I need to dust. But the excitement of the impending good times should be enough to keep me dancing through my chores.

The only time my excitement wanes a bit is when I think about the day I have to take them both back to the airport. When they will leave me and my life will be incredibly empty. At least for the hour or so it takes me to get to my….uh….friend’s place. Then I’ll be smiling again. But oh how that hour is going to suck big time. So I won’t think about that. I won’t think about how fast this week is going to fly by or how much I am going to miss them once they are gone and how we must begin to plan the next trip within days. I’ll just float on my excitement for now.

What about you? Have you ever been so excited about something only to dread knowing it had to end? What was the best trip you ever took and why? And did I mention I’m excited? I did? Oh, sorry. I’m too excited to remember. LOL!

  1. So glad you’re excited. Hope you have a great time! Of course I’ve been that excited inumerable times.lol. Too many to name. Life’s good like that.

*LOL* I hope I can live up to the hype. And honestly who’s going to check for dust? Not I. I might be Daddy’s Amish Princess, but I abhor and avoid housework at all costs.

Woohoo, I can’t wait until I get there! Dad’s not excited because he thinks you’re possibly a lunatic, but I’m not so pessimistic. 🙂 I noticed that The Pink Banana was excluded from our itinerary, a note I mentioned to Brad with some dismay. (Not what you’re thinking.)

    Woohoo, two days!!!!

The Pink Banana was never on the itin as I’d be afraid to even touch the outside of the door. However, The Love Shack is still on the list. LOL! We can get Brad a nice present while we’re there.

And my friend had the same lunatic suspicions when I went to meet Tiff last Christmas. She said, “but what if she’s a serial killer?” Ha! Everyone knows how rare it is for a woman to be a serial killer. And even if she were, I’m thinking Tiff’s victims would all be men.

You should have told your dad this was some sort of convention where you were looking into becoming a teacher. Think of how much better he would feel. LOL!

Kelly – Thanks for the good wishes. So glad you’ve had so much fun stuff to look forward to. And knowing how young you are, you still have a ton more to go!

You guys sound like you’re gonna have a blast!

Some type of spiritual retreat… isn’t that what I read a while ago about this much anticipated week! Lots of quiet time, reflection, soul searching, discovering your spiritual center, etc!!! 🙂

I know exactly how you feel. The DH and I lived in separate states (about 2,000 miles apart) for about 5 years while we were dating. Every trip we planned was exactly like that – excitement, joy, anticipation and then dread that it would end in a matter of days. The excitement teetered on drug induced euphoria, while the dread came close to depression.

Every once in a while we look at each other, smile and say “Man am I glad we don’t have to go through that s#@! anymore!” I think we’re getting old!

Since I seem to live vicariously through others, I too am excited about the gathering of the Norfolk Four!!! What with Pink Bananas (WTH?) and Love Shacks (complete w/B52s?) and a whole platoon of men in uniform (temporarily we hope) how can you NOT have a good time?! The best part is getting to see once again and meet for the first time fellow BonBons!!

Is it wrong for me to be equally excited about your visit to your ‘friend’ once they leave?

Dallas still ROCKS as a fab trip and I can’t wait until the NJ conference when I can meet and see more of you guys!

Irish – 2000 miles? For 5 years?! Holy Toledo you two were meant to be together. You’re made of stronger stuff than I am. I never would have had the patience for that.

Santa – sadly it is the Norfolk 3 but with you here in spirit it hops that number right back up. And let’s just say the Pink Banana and The Love Shack are both stores for adults only. hehehe Of course you can be excited about all of my visits. I know I am…*g*

You’re going to have so much fun!! Stories of the visit must be posted! 🙂

I can’t think of a place that I went, but I am always so excited to see my family members and then so sad to leave. We’re spread across the country (and in Singapore) so we don’t get to see each other that often. Nothing beats sitting around with my aunts and chatting for hours on end.

Irish…I relate to the distance relationship thing. I’m currently in a similar relationship and the highs and lows of seeing each other and leaving are insane.

  8. MsHellion says:

Damnit! That would have totally worked too!!! Though it sounds so cruel to get his hopes up like that, that I’d be a teacher, and then go, “Nah, the conference convinced me that teaching isn’t for me.”

Our family (like most everyone who lives in the US) originally came from Virginia. Okay, we originally came from Wales…but first stop was Virginia.

  9. terrio says:

Steph – there will be stories posted. However, names may be changed to protect the innocent.

Hellion – See! Just tell him you’re going back to the mother country!

  10. I’ll be wanting pictures! I get excited before every vacation. I’ve had 2 so far this summer, and it’s all downhill from here. Back to school in 4 weeks. Ugh. You guys have fun for me!

  11. Oh, and don’t get so busy you forget to enter my August contest (posting tomorrow)!!!

  12. Quantum says:

Well this is awesome…The gang of three finally meet. I will be checking the night sky for cosmic events and the seismometer for earthly quakes!

Can I be a fly on the wall?….I would love to peep through the key hole of the pink banana *g*

  13. terrio says:

Hey there, Maggie. We have taken pictures but we’ve been smart enough to keep the camera under wraps once the sun goes down. *g*

Hey there, Q. You know you were more than welcome to come along on this trip. No need to be the fly on the wall. Though we haven’t visited The Pink Banana just yet we have hit another store where I was informed that all items were way over priced. Good thing I brought an expert along….LOL!

  14. Tessa Dare says:

    I can feel the excitement!!!

Hope you guys are having a great time, and I can’t wait to hear all about it.

  15. Santa says:

That’s so nice of Hellion to offer her expertise….it was Hellion right? 😉
