And We’re Moving On…

The new condo I was so excited about that I was supposed to be moving into next weekend is officially kaputz. Well, the condo is still there, we’re just never going to live in it. And before anyone says “That’s too bad”, I have to say, no it isn’t. Not at all.

This thing fell through for a few reasons, but the bottom line is that by the time the contract ran out, I had plenty of reasons to no longer want the property. So really, it worked out for the best and the way I see it is I dodged a good sized bullet. Since the problem had nothing to do with me, I’m good to keep looking. Stay tuned to see if we hop back on the home buying merry-go-round.

Now it’s time to get back to my life. The life I had planned way back in May before this cluster began. I’m going to finish this Erotic Romance short story, write a short short for submission to Woman’s World, and then dig into this MS and get her polished and ready to go. My goal is to do all this by September 30, which I realize is a bit overly-ambitious, but aim high, right?

However, before I dig into any of this, I’m off this weekend to bring Kiddo home. Then Sunday night my dad flies in for a visit. Right now he only has a one way ticket, and I’m partially suspicious my mother is trying to shake him. Never fear, he will be returned. It’ll just be interesting to see which one of us breaks first.

Wow, September 30th! You set a date. Now I’m going to remind you of that constantly. Tell you what, I will shoot for finishing the rough draft of the second kraken book by then…so you can nag me, too!

  2. I’m glad it all worked out the way you wanted. And it sounds like it just increased your determination about your writing — so go you! I think you’ve motivated me too. 🙂

You’ll break first. It’s how it is with family.

Huzzah on the No Condo Victory. (That seems odd to say, but you seem happy.)

The no condo situation does indeed sound like a great situation to be in. It’s a buyer’s market right now and you have time to look and really find something that’s perfect. Have a great weekend with kiddo and Dad. Stay strong!

Chance – I did set a date, several months ago. LOL! I’m just trying to stick to it now. My plan for tomorrow night is so move my bedroom around so I can put my desk in there. Then I’ll be banished far away from the living room and the television.

It’ll be “To your room!” every night.

Donna – I hope I did. You’re working on a fresh rough draft, right? How far do you want to get by the end of September?

Hellie – So far, it looks like my dad only wakes up to eat, then nods back off. Sitting up. Outside of the CATastrophe that happened 10 mins after we got home – cat intersecting with full glass of tomatoe juice – it’s been pretty quiet.

I’m sleeping so much better since the condo thing ended. Like fall right to sleep and stay that way. Whew!

Di – You’d be so proud of us. We did some killer school clothes shopping at the mall today. Kiddo spent just over a hundred dollars and got a ton of stuff. LOVE the back to school sales.

When does middle school for kiddo start (and when did that happen? When did we get old?) And is kiddo into the skinny leg thing? I still haven’t figured that trend out.

Di – School starts next Tuesday. She’s very into the skinny jeans, but not that super skinny stuff. We hit the mall last night because she brought money back with her and it was burning a hole in her purse. Plus, she hadn’t been in a mall in 10 weeks, she was having withdrawals. 🙂

Heaven forbid she NOT go to the mall. *snorts* I try to avoid the mall when possible. I prefer to thrift my way through life.
